Groms 1986 - 1999
A Tribute to GROMS. Our strong foundation
Elegance, athleticism and power are the hallmarks of a great stallion.
Groms left us much too soon, succumbing to a fatal aneurysm at the relatively young age of 13. For those who knew and loved this remarkable stallion, his passing left a void not easily filled.
GROMS' elegance and athleticism live on in the fire and promise of his his superb sons and daughters. They are GROMS' everlasting legacy.
GROMS was a Latvian Stallion of royal heritage. A commanding presence, standing
17.3hh, this dark bay stallion exhibited the balance, substance and elegant
athleticism of his outstanding pedigree. Groms is the offspring of two Elite-1
parents. His sire Galop(17hh black) is one of the all time top producing sires
of the Latvian breed. GROMS' dam, Membrana (17hh bay) was considered a leading
broodmare of the Latvian breed. Her sire Mambo was an Elite-1 Trakehner whose
pedigree goes back to the original State Stud at Trakehnen. Prior to his
importation to the United States, GROMS stood at the Moscow Hippodrome, home to
the finest examples of Russia's native breeds. At the Hippodrome, GROMS was
ridden in Exhibition Jumping.
GROMS was unique, truly a one of a kind stallion, both in terms of his powerful athletic build and his pedigree. He possessed a noble character, with a kind and gentle disposition.........a prepotent sire who passed on size, substance, movement, athletic ability and golden temperaments.
